Preparing the Way...

We're really starting to get our area going...or rather, the Lord is preparing our area, to do a lot of missionary work. Very exciting.

We also had a zone training meeting, of which my companion and I experienced a miracle or two on the way.

Miraculous Day!

We were trying to contact a referral this week, and instead we found a lady who is originally from out of the United States. We tried to set up a return appointment with her, but her husband said no.

We proceeded around the block speaking to everyone we encountered.  We came across another lady, and it turns out that she was the referral that we needed to contact, and we had a wonderful lesson with her. We even have a return appointment for her.

Afterwards, we went to get our bikes, and the first lady mentioned waved hi to us. As we were biking past her, she motioned for us to come over. We went over and it turns out, she wants to be a Latter-Day Saint! Her dad is a branch president in another country, and her siblings are going on missions! (Her husband isn't interested and is of a different faith.)

It was great! It was a miraculous day!

Miracle #4

On Sunday, we had scheduled in our plans to have a couple take us to church. As we were walking to their apartment in a more round-about way because we had not felt good to walk our usual way, we ran into an individual we have befriended.  He had previously wanted us to help him move out on Monday, but he had received a call that Saturday that he had to be all moved out by Sunday afternoon. He had been up all night moving. We helped him out the rest of the way with his apartment and when we were done, we then made it to the apartment we meant to go to. We were a little late for ward council, but most of the council knew we had something going on (since we are always the first ones to arrive).

Miracle #3

Someone knocked on the window of the church while we were doing family history and said a bunch of crude things about us. Not much to talk about this one, because it is harder to explain with more words, so it is best to just say: "Long story short, this persecutor is now our friend."

Miracle #2

Before you read this post, please read Alma 56:47-48  - it is about the stripling warriors' faith.

We were on our bikes (we were riding a lengthy 10-11 miles that day),  we were going downhill and a car came behind us.  This had happened before, but on this particular road, there was no room for us to move around much. The car was coming up behind us, and my companion moved. I, however, being less experienced on bikes, moved a little bit too much. I went off the road on to a hill. Now, what happened next was kinda a blur. The next thing I remember, I was on the ground and the bike was on top of me. I had slid about a dozen feet on the ground. When I got up, I was perfectly fine. Nothing hurt at all. It was awesome.

We have also been chased by some big dogs while on our bikes, too. It can be scary.

Miracle #1 - A Prayer!

We are teaching an individual. My companion and his former companion have been trying to get him to pray.  We had a lesson with the man, and we learned that he didn't want to pray in front of us because he stuttered a lot. I stutter a lot, too, when I say prayers in front of people, so we told him that.

Skip forward to end of the lesson, he asked me to pray. My companion asked the man to pray. The man came up with a challenge: If I would pray without stuttering with no mistakes, then he would pray next time. My companion asked him if that was trusting "in the flesh, or in God". The man said "Both".

Throughout their conversation, I was praying secretly that I would say a prayer like what he had challenged me if he was true to his word. When the man and my companion were done talking, I prayed. The prayer was amazing. It was very lengthy. It was very clear. There was no stuttering. There were no mistakes. Now, saying that, it was far from perfect, but the man thought it was perfect. Long story short: he promised that he would say the prayer next time.

Miracles Through Tracting...

The most miracles that I have seen have been through tracting. The first day, we didn't have much success with people (as far as I could tell). The second day we went tracting was AMAZING, though.

We knocked on one door and this family answered who were Christian (don't remember the religion) and they talked about a program where they teach Christianity to Native Americans in the West (including Navajo). Long story short, we gave them a Book of Mormon, prayed with them and left. They were really nice, and I hope that the father (he wasn't home, but we know that he is a pastor in their church) is the same way about us.

The next house that answered after this family was a lady from the Faith Assembly of God Church (famous around here) and she wanted nothing to do with us and was about to shut the door when my companion asked her if we could say prayer before she left. She agreed and we prayed and she closed the screen door as we started walking away. When we were halfway down the sidewalk, she opened the screen door and started the conversation again. She is planning on attending our church sometime. A completely different countenance. It was amazing.
