Former Investigators!

My companion and I went through our former investigators list (there was a whole one-inch binder of the pages, and more!) and found that some of these people didn't have reasons on why they were "formered". We wrote all of the formers down...well, most of them, and we tried to contact some of them. We found three to four potential investigators through our efforts. We also went tracting and we found a less active member AND we found a new potential investigator who was from Arizona and he has some Navajo LDS friends. It was amazing.

My New Surroundings!

Our meetinghouse is next to a lake, it's frozen at the moment, but it is wonderful. In my new apartment, we have a huge food storage that can last a whole month. The main food source for me: POPCORN. We have so much here. I love popcorn!

Beautiful Ice Storm!

Our little town suffered an ice storm and freezing rain last night. It looked so beautiful in the morning, but we spent about an hour trying to get into the car. It had half-inch shell of ice on it. It was awesome.  It took a while to actually get into the car.  It was crazy. The trees were also frozen with ice (imagine that Frozen scene with those frozen raindrops). It was beautiful!

Our Stake is HUGE!

The branch that I am serving in is five to ten times larger than the whole mission area back home. The stake is HUGE! Not as big as my last ward's area, but still pretty big.  I am excited for my new area.  I've heard it is a great one! We had Stake Conference this weekend. It was cool. My favorite part was the Oreo cookies...jk, but that was a close second. I am in the same district as another Navajo elder.

Transfers = My New Area = Tornadoes!

Transfers were interesting. The Assistants made a mistake on the different loops, and they almost had no room in the cars. I rode on the Bull (this really beefy car.)  After I arrived at the transfer point for my area, we spent another 2 or 3 hours driving.  My new town is a tiny town that looks kinda like Magna, Utah except every house has ten times more elbow room. It is also a flat place, and it has tornadoes ;D. My companion told to me to watch for the different color of clouds. Green and black clouds=danger.  He also showed me a place where a tornado tore through. It was pretty barren.

Final Recap of the Area

  1. We were able to get the "Non-prayer" guy  I told you guys about, to pray 3 times this transfer. He is going to pray for us again because we are both leaving, and he is going to pray for the next missionaries, too! It is awesome.
  2. We were able to come back into contact with an investigator, who we thought had dropped off of the face of the planet. We weren't able to contact him for a while.
  3. We are making wonderful progress with another investigator.

Ward vs. Branch?

I am excited to go to a new area/district/zone. It is awesome. I'll be serving in a branch instead of a ward (that'll be weird). It will be smaller than the ward in which I have been serving, which has gotten way bigger in church attendance. We had 130 people there last Sunday.

The Mission Is Ever-Changing!

One of our Assistants is going home this transfer.  We have 19 missionaries leaving this week, 9 of them are zone leaders, 1 is our assistant, at least one district leader. We have 7 missionaries coming in. It is insane.

Preparing to Move...

My new area is the southernmost area in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission. My "old" companion is going to the district leader. I am excited for my new area, but sad that I'm leaving this one...but, the ward members have a ton of meals planned between now and Thursday.   We have been spending most of the day packing and cleaning. It is intense.

Both Getting Transferred!

This is OUR last week in our area. That's right, we're getting shotgunned, and sisters are taking over here. I'm going to miss this place and the people greatly. On Thursday, I'll be spending 8 hours in a car approximately, to go to my new area.

Titles of Liberty and Interviews!

We had Zone Training Meeting, and we brought our Titles of Liberty.

We had interviews with the President. Those went wonderfully.

Searching and Contacting!

We contacted as many less active people as we could find this past week. We drove two hundred miles one day, and we felt like we got a lot done, because we now are teaching some people, and we had a warm reception from all of them.

We also traveled through the "Boonies" [I think that's what they're called] and found a lot of cool sights. Unfortunately, due to the short time we had, and due to the potential problem we could get in if we stopped, we didn't take many pictures.  It was cool, though. We found some awesome road names (Test Drive Road is an example), and we traveled to the edge of our mission boundaries. We also went through a lot of bridges that were overflowing with water. That was cool.

New Investigator!

We received a new investigator this week!...Well, not quite a new investigator...she's almost one. She wants to learn more about our church because the family she hangs out with are LDS. We've been working with the whole family.

I love this ward a lot. I love our Bishop, our Ward Mission Leader, and the members.

Ward Conference

Ward Conference was last Sunday! That was awesome. We had 120 people show up to Sacrament, approximately. Even a few of the less active people showed up.

Planning for Success! Dinner and an Exchange!

We are planning a day in a nearby town to contact some less-active members and try to find a couple of potential investigators. We had an appointment with a ward member for dinner and an exchange.  He is an amazing cook, and cooks an amazing steak.
